Create Some Magic

What are Magic Artboards and how are they used?

Magic Artboards are node-based artboards that propogate designs to their children. They are a unique feature of StyleForge and let you easily make a change on the parent artboard and all child-artboards update with that change.

Magic artboards help you save time as they automatically take your original design and create copies that fit the design sizes of your selected channels, each artboard has a copy of the images, text and graphics from your original design and are sized to fit the new channel. Some adjustments might be needed, but in general, it saves around 80% of the time from making new designs by hand. The big benefit comes in when you need to make a change. Update anything on the original design like changing the text, fonts, colors or images (use the replace image feature) and all designs update instantly. This is great for handling revisions, A/B testing updates and translations across multiple sized designs for a campaign.
Start by creating an artboard on the canvas. Add design elements to the artboard such as background images, text, shapes and graphics. When you have your design completed, choose the Multi-Channel Smartboards button on the right side of the canvas. Pick the channels you want to create and the magic artboards are added to the canvas attached to your design. They are copies of your original design changed to fit the channels you select. Each artboard is connected to the parent design and when you make changes to the parent, the magic artboards all update. Change the text on the original design, and all your connected magic artboards update instantly. It really is like magic!
Magic Artboards support over 30 platform specifications across social media, advertising, and e-commerce channels. This includes Instagram (post, story, reel), Facebook (post, ad variations), LinkedIn (post, article header), Twitter/X, TikTok (vertical and horizontal), YouTube (thumbnail, banner), Google Ads, Pinterest, Snapchat, and more. Each platform includes multiple size variations—for example, Instagram alone has 5 different formats. You can generate layouts for 10+ channels simultaneously, and the system automatically applies the correct dimensions for each platform. Custom artboard sizes are also supported if you need non-standard dimensions for specific campaign requirements. ✨
Once you create a set of magic artboards by using the Multi-Channel Smartboards feature, all you have to do is select the original design and in the menu that shows above it, click the Translation button (the globe icon) and pick a language. You can translate the text on your artboards to any of 29 different languages. All artboards will update with the new language. It takes around 15 seconds to create a new translation and apply it to as many as 20 magic artboards so this is a really powerful tool for multi-channel marketing when you need to do translations for different markets.
Absolutely. Magic Artboards generate layouts at about 90% accuracy, and you have complete control to adjust any element. You can reposition text, resize images, adjust spacing, change colors, modify fonts—anything you'd do in a traditional design tool. The difference is that once you've perfected your layouts, any changes you make to the parent artboard automatically propagate to all child artboards. This means the initial customization work pays dividends every time you need to make a revision. Most designers spend less than a minute per artboard doing minor positioning tweaks, then benefit from instant updates for all future changes. 🔧
Yes. Multi-language support works through the same propagation system. Translate the text on your parent artboard, and all child artboards update with the translated content in about 15 seconds (depending on the amount of text). The AI automatically adjusts text boxes to accommodate different text lengths—for example, German text typically runs 30% longer than English, and the system handles this intelligently. You can also use Layout Cloning to create separate layout sets for each language (English in Layout 1, Spanish in Layout 2, French in Layout 3), making it easy to manage campaigns across multiple markets. This is especially valuable for global brands running simultaneous campaigns in 5-10 languages. 🌍
Magic Artboards are built for professional designers and creative teams who already create multi-channel campaigns. You'll need basic design skills to create the initial parent artboard—understanding composition, typography, and visual hierarchy. The AI handles the technical work of adapting your design across different sizes, but you maintain full creative control. Think of it as having a production assistant who handles resizing and positioning, while you focus on the creative decisions. Most users spend a few minutes fine-tuning the AI-generated layouts to match their exact specifications. If you're currently creating designs in tools like Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or Canva, you'll feel right at home. 🎨

Yes, you can export any individual artboard or all artboards as a batch with one click. You can export Magic Artboards as .png, .jpg or .psd (Photoshop layered files).
Blazingly fast. You can change the color of an item on your original design and with 20 different channel designs on a magic artboard flow, the update happens in less than a second. It takes around 20 seconds to create as many as 10 different channel designs then with manual adjustements, in around 3 minutes you can have 10 different designs ready for production.
No, only changes to the original artboard design affect the magic artboards. They are designed so that you can change the individual channel designs without affecting each other. Changes to the original design that propogate to the magic artboards include: changing colors, shapes, fills, fonts, text and rotation, and replacing images. Changing the position or scale of elements on the original design do not propogate to the magic artboards and this is to protect the spatial properties unique to each artboard.

Layout Cloning creates a complete duplicate of your entire artboard set—including the parent and all child artboards—in about 10 seconds. This is perfect for A/B testing because you can create variations without rebuilding from scratch. For example: create your primary campaign in Layout 1 (blue color scheme), clone it to Layout 2 and change the parent to red, clone again to Layout 3 for a different headline. Each layout maintains its own propagation system, so you can test multiple variations simultaneously. Teams doing seasonal campaigns, regional variations, or audience segmentation use this to create dozens of layout sets in minutes instead of days. 🔄
