How to save brand templates to speed up your workflow

Both the Infinite Canvas and Video Canvas workspaces support saving and loading templates.

Step 1

When you have your design ready to save

In a Video Canvas project, look under the background colors panel. Click on the Colors button to find the Save As Template button.

Step 2

For Infinite Canvas, look under the Artboard menu

Click the Artboard button from an Infinite Canvas project. You will see the Save As Template button.

Click the Save Artboard as Template button

At the top of the Artboard Design panel, click the green Save Artboard as Template button.

Name and description

When you click on the Save As Template button you will see a modal where you can give the brand template a name and description.

Open a new project up using a template

Both Video and Infinite Canvas projects can be opened up using a template. Look under the My Video Templates or My Canvas Templates, respectively.

What are Brand Templates and how do I use them?

Brand Templates are artboards that contain designs you have created for a brand and have saved as a template for that brand kit. This allows you to create new projects using the brand template as a starting point for your work.

Once you have created your design on an single artboard or multiple designs in the case of node-based artboards, click on the Artboards button on the toolbar. This opens up the Artboard Design panel. At the top of the panel, click on the Save as Template button. This opens up a modal and asks you to name the design and enter a description (optional).

There are two ways you can apply a brand template to a project. The first way is when you are on the Infinite Canvas start page. You will see a card that says: My Canvas Templates. This will list out all the templates you have saved. Click on the template and a new project will be created and will have a copy of all designs from your template, ready to be customized. The second way is while working on a canvas project, click on the Gold Star icon on the sidebar. This opens up the Templates panel where you can find your saved templates. Click on the template you want and a new artboard(s) with your designs will be added to the project you are working on.
